let me share with you a tale of my pompousness...

the rancho cordova target is currently a slab of concrete with some utilities connections sticking up from the ground. me being the pompous douchebag that I am considered that store to be the "low end" for me as far as retail stores go.

today i needed to pick up some household crap-ola, and would have normally stopped by that target on the way home from work. i decided, what the heck, it's just paper towels and diapers and stuff, i'll hit the rancho cordova walmart...

i could not WAIT to get out of that store... between the mouth breathers, down syndrome poster children, and some people who set racial stereotypes back about 50 years, i was done!

on the way out the door, some ****** stopped me for my receipt. i politely told her i could not find it, did not think the cashier gave it to me, and would like to continue on my way. she ordered me to go back to the checkout line to get a re-print... i told her no way i was going to spend anymore time in their store because their clerk messed up. she started paging security on her radio, at which point i demanded to speak to a manager. the manager said i have to show a receipt otherwise everything in the cart would be considered stolen once i walked out the doors. at that point, it was ON.

i got pissed, and told them to call the sheriff's and not store security. i told the ***** i was going to file charges for being detained against my will. they finally let me leave when i popped off with something along the lines of "i probably make about 5x what you make, my damn socks cost more than your entire ****ing wardrobe, do you THINK i need to shoplift at ****ing walmart?"

damn i hate that store...

Really? I'm sorry maybe its the bad day I'm having and judging by the thread title I am hoping you are just having some fun with yourself but you just became that guy. You can't go where "those people" dwell and then make fun of them. They stay out of your starbucks so you need to stay out of their wallmart. If you're such a bigshot send your personal assistant to do your dirty work.

dude, if i was really such a "big shot", what the hell would i even be doing anywhere near rancho? i live near rancho and that's now the nearest "big box" retail store to me. but really, have you ever even been into the rancho walmart? i'm sure it's just a combination of walmart people + rancho people, but it's still a ****ty experience. ironically, the nearest targets to me would be folsom or citrus heights, but i'm too much of a cheap-*** to waste the gas to go all the way there, or to buy the stuff at a grocery store and pay extra.

i got called a "pompous douchebag" a while back for professing my hatred for walmart and various discount grocery stores... this is just one of the many reasons why i feel that way.

btw - i don't ever do starbucks.

Dude, they know you're packing a knife or heat. That's why they don't **** with you.

For real, I hate that Walmart. Not all of them are bad, but Walmart + Rancho is a trainwreck. I wouldn't have getting into it with the security guard with the salary comment, but I'd be pissed too if they were trying to make a federal case of the ****. Protip - avoid the front of that place like the plague; use the garden center.

I thought I was the only nut who only used the Garden Entrance...

But I lean more towards Target anyways... True story, target has better deals than Walmart. I found out my self when I made the poor decision to go to Walmart, didn't find what I wanted, but while I was there I noticed the stuff that they had out on special and when I went to Target they had the same stuff for less, and I found what I was looking for.

Yea that happens a lot... WalMart says "always low prices" or whatever it is.... the trick to that is... they have items on the displaystands on the front of the rows. Those items are usually cheaper. They get u suckered in thinking its all lower but the stuff down the rows is the same price, maybe even slightly more expensive....
