Thinking of boost weather made me think of more power.
More power made me think of glass transmissions.
Glass transmissions made me search "What can I do short of a 6MT swap to keep the trans in my Subaru together with more power"
Google results came back with "Moore Blast Plate".
Does anyone have advice/experience with this brace that is supposed to keep the 5MT case from flexing?

Stock trans, just upgraded clutch. Never skipped a beat.
The closer ratio xt box is nowhere near as "glassy" as the wrx 5 cogs of that era. It's similar to the 09+ boxes actually.
So in summary: IMHO a waste. either keep it stock or go 6sp

I like the 5mt ratios more than the 6mt. I want to keep my 5 as long as possible.
I put down a repeatable 380/380 on my 08 FXT sport.
