Remember, if it wasn't for the popularity of cheap turbo'd Mopars in the 80's, I doubt we'd have our beloved WRX's.

not too sure about that, since the whole turbo fad started in Japan. In the Mid 80's we already had the turbo XT from Subaru.

While it may be true that the turbo XT was around back in the day, the popularity of the turbo K-cars in America is what I was trying to convey. Any XT back then was a rare sight, while Mopar tossed a turbo into everything from Omnis to Caravans.
