Actually, college football is generally a midwestern and southern thing. Most Californians don't give two craps about college football, except for possibly their own school (and thats only a possibility).

I was talking with guys from the midwest the other day about it, and they say it is 10x huger there then here. I mean, people care a little bit, but its not like a college game will ever outsell an NFL game.

It's because in the midwest everyone is related to all the players (and each other) so they want to see their family do well.

Not here, the Tigers will fill a 90,000+ stadium to capacity almost every game. In fact the New Orleans Saints don't even draw half the crowd the Tigers do in the same stadium. College football is huge here but I'm not really sure. I wouldn't care if I never went to the school. To each his own though. I love it because it so much more fun that pro. Better parties, hotter girls, more competition and school pride.
