installing springs right now..have a problem...

Car Info: 2003 WRX wagon
installing springs right now..have a problem...

so we got the struts out and put the new spring on and now when we are tryin to put the strut back in it wont line up with the two bolts on the bottom. is there a way to compress the shock so it lines up. if anyone is willing to come out to davis right now and can help with this that would be awesome..i can buy you some dinner or some beer or somethin. just need some help. you can call me at 626 290 8091 if you can help. thanks

Does the spring have any form of tension on it? if not then you can just put the strut on the ground and compress it a little... if the spring does have tension, try a floor jack or some form of jack

since you dont have a spring compresor, put the car on jackstands and use the jack to comepress the spring upward til the bolts go in.

that what we had to do and its a major *****

thanks...we actually figure it out..it wasnt lining up because only one side of the car was in the air..when we got the other side up it lined up perfectly.

Yup, your issue was that the swaybar was pre-loading the suspension because only one side of the car was jacked. Good to hear that you got it
