i've grown up with both and cats are just lower maintenance.
i'd own a dog if we had more land/yard for him to run on, but our house doesn't have much flat open space.

Same I grew up with both. I like cats because they are super low maintenance, and have more personality then dogs IMO. If I didn't live in an apartment i'd get a dog too
