For all we know rat could be really tasty. As long as they are farm raised and not diseased or wild then I don't see a problem. Everything is food for something and all animals are made of meat. Who are we as narrow minded spoiled Americans to say what is acceptable or not to eat as long as its not another human? You can only control what is acceptable for you and nobody else.

Although in some parts of Peru they eat guinea pig and consider it a delicacy.
