I love the SRIC

I just want to say that I love this Forum. This place and going to the meets is like a home away from home.... or even a better place than being home. When I first moved up into the Sacramento area, I really didn't have any friends. But meeting people through this Forum and being able to hang out with some of you, has really been a huge "Upper" in a relitively depressing life. Driving my Legacy (so its not a WRX or an STi) is my way of getting away the stress of life. Driving makes me happy, I am very happy with my car, and I love Subarus. Thats what this place is all about, love for our cars, right? When i first starting coming here I was able to talk to a lot of people who were knowledgable about Subarus. These people were able to tell me what little inexpensive things I could do with my car to make it handle better and be a little more powerful. So now doing things to improve perfomance in my car makes me happy.

I really have to thank the the SRIC, I have told some of you the crap that has gone on in my life. I have been depressed to the point of thinking suicide is an easy way out. But like I said my car makes me happy. And being able to talk to people locally that have the same passion for Subarus as I do (although most have more knowledge on them than I) made me kinda overpower this depression thing that i have.

With all that said, in all honesty, This forum, and some of the people on here have been a real life saver for me.

Thanks again guys!

I've met some really good friends through the BAIC and SRIC. It's great that many of us get together outside of the normal Subaru thing (mountain biking, parties, dinners, weddings, etc.). It's a neat little community we've built together. What is especially cool is that anyone that comes to the meets or parties is immediately welcomed, and despite what a couple of naysayers might think, this is not some special "clique".

That being said, I think we need to do another install day at my house. Maybe after Thanksgiving sometime?

Yeah, the club helped me get a job, when it was looking pretty grim. I know a lot of people were looking, not just the guys who ended up being successful in getting me a job The job thing was one of my biggest stresses when I first joined. Its so wierd to think how much has happened to me because of the people I've met here and at meets.

Oh, and if I was closer I'd definitely be down for an install day. That damn track day makes me want coilovers

I've heard a few people say, "I-club is just a group of old guys with nice cars". That isn't true, but if it was, I'd just tell them that just means there's more experience. I haven't been out to a meet yet, but I'm trying to find time off to go. hope to see you all someday soon!

i've gotten a ton of help on my subaru from people on this board. i've also met some cool people. hell, me still being here and not even having a subaru anymore should be a testimonial to that. some other car sites are all about the members patting themselves on the back for purchasing the car they did, the members of this site actually do stuff.

I also love this forum. Because I work with people in their late 30s to 40s, and because I don't connect very well with a lot of people at Sac State, I had two or three friends when I joined here. Within 6 months of joining here we started up the meets and I started meeting all of you guys. I still remember the first time I met Aaron and how weird I thought his Legacy passion was :rotfl:.

I've gotten in to a lot of awesome stuff I never would have with out it. I love our mountain biking days and M&M is SO much fun. Josey really loves you guys too and we were both so happy that many of you guys were able to be at our wedding .

I'd be down for an install day. Maybe I'll finally buy the suspension for the RS and bring it over?

Cale you said what I have been thinking since went to my first meet, both here and SECCS. Who knew that buying a car would impact me the way it has. In the past 1.5 years my life has completely changed, for the better. This purchase was the event that started it off. Thank you guys (and girls) for being such awesome friends. My car even got me a Josh .

Yeah, the SRIC is like a little getaway in the middle of my work day. Plus, I really enjoy doing the activities outside of the club also.

There has been a lot of negativity on the forum (ie: Drama) lately.

I guess we can make this thread a way to showcase the good that has come from the club.

I'm really tired of hearing negative attitudes towards, whatever..... shops..... you know

SRIC has helped me expand my circle of friends past military people. It gets me away from work, and lets me expand myself beyond what the Air Force throws at me. I've met a lot of great people, and I've met a few jackasses, but I have nothing but good things to say about the club

Oh, and without SRIC, I would have never met Deede

As a newbie here, I totally feel like the SRIC is some special "clique".

Ha! The few peeps I've met all seem cool and down to earth. Just wanted to add my $.02.
