I was hit by a new WRX!
This happened on Friday on Sunrise at about 4pm. I was sitting in my car enjoying the beautiful traffic when I heard the sound, the very distinct sound of cars crumbling. I looked over my shoulder when BAM! WTF! I jumped out of my car and see a brand new Red WRX without a trunk behind me.
He was apparently hit by an older Jeep Cherokee which made the WRX hit me. The Jeep was hit by this older lady in a Mercedes SUV.
The lady in the SUV was driving VERY fast toward stopped traffic and plowed into the Jeep from behind which caused the chain reaction. She must have thinking about Bush's re-elect and decided to drive with reckless abandon.
Anyway, The SUV was destoyed. The Jeep looked like all it needed was a new tailgate but the WRX that he hit looks destroyed also. The entire trunck of the WRX just crushed like a soda can, probably totaled.
The WRX then hit the back of my car. Luckily I will only need a new bumper cover mavbe a new bumper beam. The bumper is maybe 1-2 cm farther from the fenders on both sides but nothing serious at all, the lightbulb above the license plate fell out and thats about it.
I wonder if the owner of the WRX is on these boards cause he had his camera-phone with him and was taking pictures.
So who do I go after in this situation? The WRX or the SUV that started it all?

The SUV, unless you want to waste your time or gamble that the WRX will have a ****ty lawyer.
When I was hit from behind and pushed under a truck, the truck tried to go after me instead of the guy who hit me. That was a waste of time and money, it wasn’t my fault and I was already going after the guy who hit me. For some reason the truck didn’t bother going after the guy who hit me till after he lost his case against me and I was awarded a settlement from the guy behind me, who had tried to say it was my fault for stopping (ummm TRAFICE JAM)
Would the WRX have hit you, if the SUV didn’t start the accident? If the answer is No, then the WRX doesn’t have any fault he is a victim just like you. The SUV should have better insurance then the WRX anyhow.

Thats seems logical. The traffic was totally stopped for a while before the collision. I tried to contact the owner of the SUV but no reply yet.
If I file a claim with my insurance they will repair my car than go after whoever for the $ right? This seems to be the easiest way to do it.

If you're not hurt, you can just file your claim with your insurance company if you've got coverage for this sort of thing. You'll just have to pay your deductible. However, you could just try filing the claim against one of the other people if you don't want to pay your deductible. Good luck with the claim. You should probably contact an attorney first if you are hurt or don't know which person's insurance company to file the claim against. Also, make sure to get a copy of the police report as soon as possible. Hope everything goes well for you. Judging from your description of the damage, it doesn't sound bad, but it still sux. It could be worse...
I was hit by an uninsured drunk-driving nine-teen year old in an old beaten truck a couple months ago on Southbound I5 just North of Seamas exit. Traffic slowed to a stop/crawl at 6:30pm. I hear the sound of loud screeching tires so I look in the rear view mirror and see this truck swerve from his lane, debris flying through the air, then smash right into the SUV directly behind me sending her vehicle careening clear accross three lanes into some trees on the side of the highway. I look ahead and to the sides to see if I can escape, but there wasn't enough room. I mashed on my brake pedal to make sure I wouldn't hit the car in front of me, still hoping the idiot would somehow stop after already smashing into a bunch of other cars. But, he must've been going so fast that the impact did not slow him down very much. It was a 5 car collision including the drunk driver. The drunk driver managed to hit each of us separately. He sat in his truck in the middle of the highway until the CHP came for his safety.

The tip of the muffler is where the edge of the bumper used to be.

YES! I am glad he posted the pics.
You can't really tell from the pics but my bumper moved forward and down just a little bit.
I got hit pretty hard and was very suprised to see what little damage happened to my car.
Just another testament to how great our cars really are.

this happened to one of my friends, and here in Ohio they generally blame each person who rear ended someone else, so the mercedes would get blamed for the jeep, jeep for the wrx, wrx for you, but he made it clear to the insurance and police that the person behind him left safe space and that it was the person who hit them that was at fault, and the person who started it got blamed for both, IMO if the mercedes was going fast enough to cause 2 additional collisions, they should have their *** handed to them . . .
