I hate SUVs v.MSPAINT
A guy driving one nearly died this morning trying to do a maneuver that any car could have done just fine. Let me explain.
So I'm traveling along on Hwy 50, heading to work. I'm in the #3 lane (I think that's right) going about 65 - 70 when some jack *** in a green Jeep Grand Cherokee starts merging on to Hwy 50 from the Howe on-ramp. He decides, that instead of merging in to the slow lane...EMPTY slow lane, that is, and speeding up to his desired speed and moving over if necessary, that he'll just turn on his blinker (more than most SUV drivers so I'll give him some credit) and merge right across the slow lane and in to mine, probably headed for the fast lane.
He must not notice the blinding yellow car with 4 lights on heading in his direction. So he proceeds to move over, and I'm thinking that he's going to do the safe and legal thing (stupid of me I know) and move in to the slow lane. Instead, he decides to just keep going as I explained above. The only issue I have with this is that where he's merging is now where I am at and I have full control of the lane. There's another mammoth land yacht to my left so I've nowhere to go. I guess I could have hit the brakes, and would have if jerk **** was definitely going to hit me, but at the time he wasn't going to hit me (I was almost in front of this SUV to my left so I would end up with somewhere to go) so I just kept on moving.
The SUV driver finally figures he should check his blind spot and look behind him, you know now that he's about 25% in my lane (small cars rule, btw) and finally he sees me. He swerves HARD to the right and his suspension compresses all the way. I thought for sure he was going to go over because he jerked that wheel HARD. Today must be stupid people amnesty day because somehow this retard didn't flip his car and kill himself.
Now had he been in a car, like a sporty WXR, or ****, even a Kia, he would have swerved out of the way no problem. No fear for his life, no fear of sliding across the freeway on his roof. But at least he looks cool in that big "truck".
