EXACTLY! There was one homeless dude that I bought a sammich for and he was actually grateful for it.
Then there was this other dude (I won't mention his skin color) who hangs out at the corner by the Chipotle across from Sunrise Mall. He asks for money, but I say, "Sorry, I don't give out money to people, but here are some gift certificates to Round Table" ($10).
And he gives me attitude and says "Well I can just get money from someone else then", and he walks off with the gift certificates.
I'm sitting there fuming wishing I would've taken them back, when all of a sudden the crumpled up certificates come flying through my sunroof. I was so happy that he decided to give them back, so I went and got some yummy pizza.

To the OP, most people that HAVE cars don't even think about what they are putting on teh hood/roof/trunk scratching it.
I saw another bum at a light one time, and the front car rolled down there window and I assume asked for directions because I saw the bum pointing like he/she was giving directions, and then the people drove off

that sucks bro ...... but like everyone saying ..... don't give out money just offer them that u can buy them food. I don't give out money .... even if they are like ..... come on man its onyl 50 cents .... am like i'll buy u a sandwich or burger. Then they are like NO Thanks.

I was coming out of Buca di beppo in SF with my family and the guy ask me for money, so I try to hand him leftovers. He then asked me if it had meat, I said ya, and he said he didn't eat meat.
