What size wheels? You can't do a couple tires- you need to match not only size but wear, and different brands vary enough in size that even if measured tread depth (x%) is the same, outside diameter is different and you'll fry a diff. Get 4 tires. It sucks, but you don't have to get knockoff drift-spec specials.
Search for the local Tire Dealer (shop name). Mine in Fair Oaks has killer prices on matched sets of 4 - usually mounted and balanced 60-70% michelins, falkens, bridgestones, etc, for $160-$180 all in.
