Just wondering which of you guys have an MP3 player to play tunes in your Scuby? What's the brand, model, and specs? Is it in-dash or do you have it mounted somehow? How do you have it routed to your speakers? Is there a line-in on the Subaru 6 disc changer? And if you have any pics of your setups can you post them?

I have an aftermarket headunit that has an AUX input in the back. The headunit is a single din, so theres a pocket underneathe. I the wire for the AUX input comes through a hole drilled in the back of the pocket, and I just toss the mp3 player in the pocket. The headunit is a Pioneer, and the mp3 player is a rio karma. Eventually I might get a stand (like old school car phones had) and put the craddle that came with the MP3 player on that so it puts out a better quality, and doesnt fly around.

I've got an old Pioneer CD head unit with an IP-bus (changer input) converter that takes RCA signals and pipes them in on the aux channel. RCA's -> 1/8 stereo jack to my ipod (second-gen), with a firewire 12v feed givin it constant power so it's got full juice at all times. Looks clean, works really well; remind me to show it to you next time you're out.

Factory stereo, ipod mini on a tape adaptor. I leave the ipod in the shifter boot area so it's easy to reach. Looks like crap, wires everywhere, sounds pretty bad if volumes aren't right, but it works. I suppose if I knew what a better sounding setup sounds like to begin with, I'd want more...

I have an Alpine CDA-7998 which will read MP3's on CD. In addition, I have an Archos AV420 which has a 20Gb hard drive to play MP3's. It's plugged in via the Alpine CD changer port using an ai-RCA adapter. The Archos doubles as my track video recorder.
Stock Stereo
Metra Antenna Adapter (you won't need this on an Impreza)
JVC KS-IF200 inline FM Modulator
That really one of my only solutions right now, since my stock stereo can't be replaced
But it works, and sounds good for now.

i have a iPod Shuffle 1GB...
haven't had time to look into getting it adapted to the stock 6-disc yet but my plans were to get teh FM transmitter/MP3 adapter from costco that plugs into the cigarette plug and has a USB in. my plan was to plug the shuffle directly into that and go.

Thanks for the ideas, what do you guys use to mount your player? I think it was Egan who had a pretty slick setup, but I can't remember what type of holder you were using.
I just realized I have a tape player in my Suby, I was used to my Saturn which only has a CD/MP3 unit without a tape player.

Then I picked a PDA holder that fit my Archos. I'm sure there are plenty out there for ipods et al. They can just bolt to the panavise.
I got my panavise on ebay for about $10 less than the panavise site.
