Pro tip: don't even come near the radiator of a car that's started to overheat. Don't even look at it. Esp when it's an old modified turbocharged miata with a questionable mishimoto radiator.
Oh ****, dude. Hope you heal quick. I wouldn't go near it with ANYTHING Mishimoto.

Thanks.
Basically I fixed a billion issues with an old 94 built turbo miata. Went to go tune it, got it dialed in and driving real nice. As soon as I start tuning for power/boost, it starts to overheat. I limp it back, open the hood, and the cap explodes off.

I definitely know better than to touch a boiling radiator, but I guess I shouldn't even open the hood until car is cold next time.

Since he never comes on here anymore, Inna: ask your husband if we're putting the DPTs on his car for the next autocross? God knows Lianne (I SEE YOU OUT THERE, LURKER) won't be using them.

So did the cap fail or the neck on the radiator?

Making me happy I went with CSF for my Miata radiator.

The answer is: yes.
The neck was bubbling. The cap blew. I'd replace #ALLOFIT

But I aint touching that car again except through the peace and quiet of a usb cord and laptop buttons. In fact, my better half suggested that I need to stick to 1 thing going forward, and if I have to choose, my choice is laptop buttons. So once this line of cars is done, my wrenching is going to be very limited.

Replace all of what? Have your heard something bad about the Supermiata/CSF down flow radiators I haven’t?
