I hope they take 4 years to start selling those condos, by that time I should be able to buy one.

eww. i didn't sign up to look at the floor plans and stuff.

relatively though, that's still not too bad. Dawn and I looked at condo's in folsom a while back. they were going for about $250k for a 900 square foot condo about a year ago. i don't even want to imagine what they're going for now.

Where the heck were you looking? Scott's sister built a Condo in Folsom a year ago for $250K and it is 1608 sq ft. She paid an additional $30K for a certain lot she wanted though. We just looked at the same place she is at and her same style condo is only going for $320K now.

Edit: I was wrong I looked up her floor plan it is 1608 sq ft.

Depending on your down and interest rate, you'd be looking at like $1700 - $1800 a month I'd imagine, not including property taxes and insurance. I'm basing that on knowing what my mortgage is on $235k

What I mean is won't there be a monthly fee just to live there, even if you own the place?

Oh, gosh, that would depend on the property management. I would imagine something similar to homeowners assoc. fees would exist in a place like that.

matt's numbers are very close for a $300k mortgage at decent rates. from what i found while looking at condo's, you do have to pay an additional fee each month for building maintenance and general up-keep. while you own your own condo, the things like air conditioning, plumbing, exterior maintenance, lobby's, hallways, elevators, etc... all need maintenance and those costs are passed on to the owners (rightfully so).

Well, in that case you're probably paying that kind of money for a high up apt, which means you've got bad *** views. I would love to live downtown in a high rise. Would be so fun.
