basically, people skirt the assualt rifle bans by purchasing watered down versions of guns that are illegal and using kits that are easily modified to turn the gun from it's pos california legal configuration to a much more fun configuration.

 

You are incorrect.

There is no skirting here. The rifle build is 100% legal in Kalifornia. The lower is not on the banned list. The evil features are legal because the magazine can only be released by using a tool. It just so happens that the tip of a bullet is technically a tool.
