Alleged Street Race Turns Deadly in Sacramento County
One man was killed Tuesday night in the latest incident of street racing in Sacramento County, investigators said. Authorities are also looking for two other people who were involved in the race.
Two cars were swerving in and out of eastbound traffic on Calvine Road near Vintage Park just after 11 p.m. when one of them lost control, according to witnesses. The car swerved, hit a telephone pole and rolled over. One man in the car was ejected. Sanh Sui Quach, 22, suffered injuries to his upper chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men were taken to UC Davis Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. Their names have not been released.
"We do not know at this point if alcohol played a factor, but definitely the street racing aspect is part of the investigation that we're looking into," said Sgt. R.L. Davis of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators are looking for the other car involved, a white mid-90s model Nissan 300SX.
