I don't give a **** if someone gets butt hurt because i called them a retard and his parents didn't hug him enough so his self esteem isn't high enough. However I never joke about someone being a scammer, or trying to screw people out of money. That's where you cross the line

as do i...

the problem with kids these days, aka you, is that your parents think your all too damn good to work ****ty jobs.

i say every kid should work a fast food job, wash some cars, work in construction (for dudes), and do other menial labor for a while.

See stupidchicken here is a fine example of why jokes like that annoy me... See retard(above). He thinks I have not worked a '****ty job'(probably due to things he's heard rumored through the internet). Apparently a year at Taco Bell, working Drive-Thru/DeepFryer/waking up at 7am to prep the hot side, doesn't fall in his 'working fast food'. Since I did just that. How how about my student assistant job, where i got paid garbage to deal with retards(see above).

See where he gets mad is i'm not an idiot and I have this thing called a brain. Therefore I don't need to do manual labor, because I have these weird things called 'skills'.

While I agree if jobs are handed to kids, I tutored kids, did PC consulting and did work for the state as an independent contractor through high school, and talked my way into supporting/managing the UCSC network before moving into another position as sys/netadmin for the entire physical plant there. I helped develop the first computerized 911 dispatch system for Cal Fire, did emergency dispatch, managed statewide fire and support services. I might be a keyboard jockey, but I worked my ****ing *** off. I don't need to work fast food or construction to learn the value of a hard day's work.

according to RussB you do. Who cares that I worked over 20+ hours this weekend alone. and have over 230 billable hours this month. That's not hard work because it didn't involve a shovel

we have a bunch of new interns at work. they are handed challenging and fun research projects.

we have some new full time engineers / designers. they get handed a stack of redline drawings to fix up.

anyone see a problem there?

eh idk bout chores.. i mean dont get me wrong. my brother and i still cleaned our room/ bathroom/ basically the whole house... washed cars, picked up the dog ****..

but big projects like building an extra garage and multiple sheds and crap like that are a little above and beyond what most my friends and kids in my generation did

lolz.

what i mean is this "little billy doesn't have to work while he's in college, he needs to focus on his underwater basketweaving classes" attitude that seems to be taking over.

for me, working ****ty jobs with tweakers and dumbasses was what kept me in college and motivated to do better. i can honestly say that if i didn't work a few POS jobs, i probably would've ended up as somewhat more of a loser.

i'm not going to lie, my parents helped me with funds while I was in school, but I still worked almost full time (35 hours a week). However, not even a year out of school. I'm 100% financially independent. Just because some of the kids are come from more priviledged families doesn't mean they didn't work any less to get where they are(granted in alot of times that is the case it seems like)
