Cool Greetings

I figured I would introduce my self here to those local to me. New to the bord, not to Subi's. I am currently driving a 84 toyota 4runner and am Wheeling it. I was previously/ and still do occationaly drive a 87 Subaru XT. I love driveing Fast and Slow, that makes finding the proper vechial for me a royal pain in the ***. I am wanting a new car, one to satisfy my need for speed. I was thinking WRX / STI but Insurance for a younge male driver in a sports car sucks . So I am thinking a Forster XT, Honestly there is enough imprezas running around I need to be different. Besides I love the stealth factor .

I am pleased to see you guys are into Mountain biking and May join a ride or 2.

Oh, incase It does not show up, I am 20yr old Male.

Welcome to SRIC! Good call on the FXT, swap the intercooler, turbo and associated plumbing, and ECU from a 04 STI and you have a what the Forester guys call a FXTI, 300HP super sleeper That's what I'd like to do if I had the cash.

I hear you about the insurance for a 20 year old male, I'm 23 and I still get owned on insurance for my 2001 RS. But anyway, welcome again!

I have no problem making it to a meet. When I started up with a local 4x4 club I didnt have my 4runner yet and I showed up to a few meets in the XT and I got someinteresting reactions . I will definatly show my face at a meet.

Can the same be done with a Non turbo Forester? I dont see why not, but then again I am not the most mechanicly inclined. I would imagine it would bea little more work since I would be installing a whole new system not replaceing existing parts.

It is a whole lot more work to do it to a non turbo forester, if you want to go that route, you would be better off buying a FXT.

The engine in the non-turbo Forester is not the same motor thats in the turbo version minus all the turbo bits. If it were, then what you are saying is true, but unfortunately, the non-turbo Forester engine cannot hold the same amount of power, unless you build up the motor. BUt at that point, why not just buy the FXT to begin with?
