I hate that IIHF rules decide games with shootouts. Friendlies, qualifiers, even playoffs--fine, whatever, but not finals. That game was amazing, but they should have kept going with OT periods until a winner prevailed. None the less, great game! Everything a gold medal final should be.. except for the shootout.
With that said, though, that shootout was pretty amazing and let the best hockey players in the world, goalies and skaters, show their stuff. Jocelyne Lamoureux's goal on Shannon Szabados, arguably the best female goaltender in the world, was downright ****ing filthy. I can't overstate how good Szabados is and Lamoureaux undressed her so hard Szabados lost her stick. I was cheering pretty loudly last night.
THE primary reason I enjoy the Olympics more than most other sporting events: passion. You just don't get that anywhere else. Maaaaybe college level sports, but nowhere near the same intensity. Not going to lie, on many occasions I've teared up when they play the Star-Spangled Banner during the medal ceremony. Last night was no exception.

Winter Olympics isn't very fun to watch. Besides Hockey, I think the men's Half-pipe competition gives me anxiety watching them land the tricks.

The sliding is fun to watch but it doesn't give me the anxiety that any of the snow events does except for the distance jumping. They look like flying squirrels
