Ghetomas residents, grab your white sheets and get ready to Rally
A tent city on Union Pacific property on north B Street in Sacramento is emptying out thanks to one man's offer.
"I was elated," homeless camper John Donaldson said. "I prayed for somebody to come down and show a little bit of happiness."
The controversial bounty hunter Leonard Padilla offered 60 acres of empty land to the homeless community near Del Paso Road and El Centro in Natomas.
"If you sit around and wait for the politicians to do it, it's not going to get done," Padilla said.
The property is in the middle of a booming community surrounded by homes, businesses and residents who said it's not wanted.
"It's upsetting. I know the homeless have nowhere to go but we need to try as a society to come up with a solution," resident Laura Zamora-Gaffney.
Padilla wants the public to donate tents and porto potties.
Sacramento city officials said they are investigating whether Padilla broke any city ordinances.
"We're trying our best to use our voucher system to find them temporary housing and and at the same time longer term shelters and ultimately permanent housing," Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo said.

I doubt this will happen.
The guy is probably just doing it to call attention to an issue he's passionate about. Additionally, there's so much money in the area I imagine he will run in to serious opposition. Right next to this property is a huge new development where they're selling new homes on a man-made lake for $500k-$1m, there's a development full of million dollar homes and Kings players, etc, etc.
Hope I'm not wrong :\

So I read an article on kcra saying that the homeless people have already started moving over here. I imagine it will take a few days for them to get here since it's 7 miles and they don't have cars.
Anyway, I drove out and found the place. This Padilla guy is an idiot. The new said there were crack dealers and meth dealers (along with users) in the homeless camp, and he offers up his property directly behind multiple neighborhoods full of kids, and across the street from an elementary school.
Moron.

Yeah there were a couple of tents. I took some pictures but the stuff was too far off to really see. I didn't want to drive out there because I didn't want to get the homeless on me
