I went with Kumho SPT and they give good bang for buck. $400 for all for from tirerack.com for 245/40/17. they are not too much more than the AST

I've found that tire rack and installation from a local shop is cheaper for most tires. DiscountTireDirect.com may be even cheaper since theres no tax and no shipping. Note that that has Direct on the end, sort of Discount Tire/America Tire Co.'s answer to TireRack.com

I have no direct experience with either tire, but I've looked at them both.

From what I've read, I'd go with the Kumhos over the Hankooks.
