Yeah they do have some decent tires at the yards but most of them are stock sized i.e. 16's & such, the only yard that might have decently sized tires would be the ferrari/porsche/lambo yard and they probably wont be giving you any deals

Funny story. Last August I saw a guy who drives a white GT get punked by a guy in a Carerra GT at Squaw Valley. It was priceless.

I just ordered some wheels for the 335 and was looking into some Michelin PS2's or Falkens, just wanted to see if there was a better deal than Tirerack.

try Discount Tire Direct eBay auctions.
i bought from them and they're cheaper than tirerack.com and free shipping as well.
fast shipping and they even warrantied one tire that got a non-repairable cut a week after I mounted them on my wheels!

same Americas/Discount Tire service also.
plus you can have them mounted at a local America's tire for cheap when you buy them through their auctions or online.
