Roseville police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly being the triggerman in a drive-by shooting Wednesdasy in which no one was struck.

Police are now looking for a 19-year-old man they suspect was driving the car.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Fifth Street near E Street, said police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther.

A 17-year-old Roseville boy was walking in the area when a white Hyundai sedan cruised past, she said. The two males in the car flashed gang signs and then the car's passenger fired several shots at the pedestrian, she said.

The 16-year-old boy, who is from Antelope, was arrested hours later, Gunther said.

The driver, identified as Ralph Alexander Mattos III, also from Antelope, is now being sought and may be driving a relative's white 2003 Hyundai four-door sedan, she said.

He is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
