Chando's Taco Truck will be here for lunch, my area is doing a ice cream party for the summer solstice, and it's also the the day for the monthly birthday cake. Then potentially pizza at the meet tonight. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a heart attack before the day is over.

Just had one of the worst staff meetings.

They emailed us yesterday saying they were going to give us the "gift of time" and end the meeting earlier than normal.

Wouldnt you know... it went LONGER than normal

 

I always hated when people say their giving us the gift of time back from a short meeting. If you do not need that much time for your meeting then don't schedule it so long. If someone scheduled a 2.5 hour meeting I plan my other work around being unavailable for that 2.5 hour block and potentially scheduled other meetings for the time following it.

 

Yeah but then if it goes over you've got a bunch of people dropping, flipping out, and in general chaos.
