dip stick in sti broke. rod just snapped off right before the handle while checking oil level. luckily nothing fell into the engine.
1) I never knew they could snap so easily, since I've seen them bend many times and never break
2) they are surprisingly cheap/reasonable to replace from Subaru. only $12 brand new from Inna
