How can something be considered an 'open' architecture if the **** doens't work and you need files from people that won't give them too you?

LON and BACnet are communications protocols for devices we use for building controls (HVAC/Lights/Fume hoods/ etc.).

LON is a PITA to integrate things together with. BACnet is cake and doesn't cost extra if you want to add extra devices you already own.

I only have to use LON when some booksmart engineer with no street smarts specifies it and they won't budge on the spec.
