Hearing the boxer engine's purr in the cabin is one of the main reasons I love the power plant. It's gotten to the point where I can hear a WRX/STi coming or going.

Ear plugs would've been less of a hassle, and cheaper too!

Hope it works. A friend of mine did something like that to a different car, but it didn't work out so well.

I found out that all that dynamat added about 20-30lbs to the car. As far the noise level- no reading was taken prior to install.

20-30 lbs isn't bad at all, but thats a lot of dynomat, are you sure it isn't more?

Also what kind of stereo are you putting in there?... I see some dynamat extreme in the trunk and i'm assuming you are doing that to prevent rattling.

hahaha 20-30 pounds is nothing if the driver weighs 110 or less.

Don't forget to take some sound readings, this sounds (haha) like something I might want to do in the future.

Keep us posted with the results.

Or if you are already 220, what's an extra 30 lbs!

From cars that I've done that too the stereo will sound tons better by keeping all the sound "in". While the actual noise reduction can be negligible.

did you put the amp under the drivers seat? I have found that to be a no no in the past not to mention now you have hole in your floor board depending on how professional the installers are. be sure to check it after the next rain.
