For consulting as far as running cat 5 and crap. Really depends on how many years you've been doing it. I would say a range of 10-20 an hr is a safe bet, agian depending on your experence.

Well im going for an interview in san francisco next week. I hope good things come out of this. If it does. This will be my cash cow to support me until i can get my corporation running.

What? I make $35/hr at work. Why would I charge less for outside stuff? If anything I would think I would charge more...

This reminds me of the demotivational calendar that was over at Paul's shop.
Consulting: If you're not a part of the solution, there's good money to be made in prolonging the problem.

You're making $35/hr? Fulltime or contracting?

Most companies bill at 80/h labor so 65 is pretty cheap imo

emergency calls are about 80-90 with min of two hours.

A few months ago I did a search online for in-home computer service rates, and IIRC I didn't find anything for under $75/hr.

Damn, that's a lot of money to have someone tell you to reboot.

When I worked at CompUSA we charged $100 flat rate to fix problems. They usually took 15-20 minutes. $40 to add memory to your system, $70 to add disk/cd-rom, etc.
