If Soggy contests the results and loses in the poll myself and everyone else that guessed gets to kick him in the crotch... heh!

That was the whole point. The article says that by calling her in, she gets some kind of protection that would make it so they can't kill her

:gets on soapbox: Why are people, especially Liberals/Socialists/Democrats, supporting her husband's decision to kill her? This same group of mentally ill wackos also say it's wrong for the Government to use the Death Penalty.:gets off soapbox:

Twice before, they've removed her feeding tube.... and twice they've put it back in. And now it's become a political issue, as lawmakers are damn near humping each other over the thought they might be able to scare up some votes by looking compasionate and blocking her death.

Nevermind they'd be breaking the law by stopping the judge's order. Hell, weren't they even talking about subpoenaing her to appear before congress, just so they'd have to keep her alive for a bit longer?

I think they should let the poor woman die, but that's not how things tend to work in the US.

Edit: damn this thread is moving fast!

Her husband is engaged. If they had made a written contract/legal living will, It would be a totally different story. Instead of one jackasses word against someone who can't speak.

OK.
Since the Gay Marriage Ban was ruled to be unconstitutional due to "fair protection" concerns, plural marriages must also be legal; she can live, he can get married.

A man's gotta get his somewhere. Would you prefer that he mounts a carrot in the hospice?

Seriously, it has been 15 years and there is no way she will recover. If I was in her condition I would want the tube removed and maybe a shotgun blast to the temple. Even if there was a slim hope that I would recover, I would rather die than be like that. And if for some reason my parents or some state agency fought to keep me alive I would want my wife to be allowed to live her life and not be stuck with a drooling fool in a hospital bed somewhere...

Gay marriage bans aren't unconsitutional because they limit marriage, they're unconstitutional because they limit marriage between people of a certain creed.

i.e. It's okay to say that marriage can be between only 2 people. It's not okay to say marriage can be between only 2 people as long as their a man and a woman (or the same race, or of the same religion, etc.)

He could have divorced her and turned her over to the custody of her family.
