Clear Bra Saga

Well my clear bra saga for my car may have finally came to an end today. I took it in for the third time this morning, and so far it looks good. There are a few bubbles that they said should go away. My front bumper looks completely fine. But my hood was being a b**** to them for install. The people who did the job were really cool, very professional. However my car was one of the first cars that they have installed it on.

I am a very patient person, and this time it really payed off for me. Today because this was my third time going down to the place, they almost completely detailed the outside of my car, they hand washed it armor alled the tires, cleaned the wheels, windex the windows, and cleaned the inside dash area. I keep my car very clean so they really didn't need to do anything on thr inside. But anyways the owner of the place worked on my car today and when he was done and gave me back my keys he asked if I wanted my windows tinted, because I have come back so many times, Tuesday he is going to call me up to schedule an appointment for me to come back down and get the back windows tinted for no extra charge. Oh and also he is gonna check over the bra again to make sure its perfect.

So I am very happy right now. I'll put before and after pics up as soon as I take more pics.

I'm not trying to bad mouth advance detailing in any way, but check very closely all of the leading edges of the clear bra. I have chated with the guy there who does the clear bra and from what he told me, he starts with solid sheets of the 3M film then cuts to fit on you car (like everyone locally does, as far as I know). 9 times out of 10 you will end up with a cut in your paint and possibly metal where the cut is made in the film. It is dificult to see becasue the leading edge of the film blends and reflects with the surface of your car, you will have to peel the film back to see the cuts.

How much did it cost you?

As many of you know I work for a detail shop out in Rancho. We are in the process of becoming an authorized Rockblocker dealer/install center. If you didnt already know Rockblocker comes pre cut for your vehicle, that means no cutting on your car at all.

I'm not a registered vendor here so I'll have to stop myself here. If anyone wants any more information, not on the services I offer but on detailing/clear bra information in general please fell free to PM me.

yeah it cost me $450 for the front bumper, hood, headlights/foglights, and mirrors. I went against the fitted/pre cut bras mainly because all the ones that I have seen done do not actually end up fitting right. Like leaving spaces along the edge. I'm sure not all are like that however the places that I checked before Advance Auto, all wanted more money for the job and they were cutomed fitted. I went for less money and got the clear bra on where you can only see where the bra stops on the hood and fenders (if that makes sense).

I could have waited around and looked into it more, but this is something that I needed on my car ASAP.

also I was able to watch these guys in action, there are no scartches on my car... cuz if there was, my eagle eyes would have cought it, and I would have raised hell.

But like I said, I'm happy with how it turned out, and plus I am getting a free tint job to boot lol

Why not just save the money, skip getting a clear bra, and get your car repainted if it gets screwed up?
