Check Engine Light on; need shop in Elk Grove area

Hi all I need to get the Wagon toa shop ASAP but I can't drve it far. the check engine light came on and I got he code to flash back 11, 16, 32. 35
I check both book and then clear codes and got back code 16 as the only code(injector #3) but testing by disconnecting the injector wire on #3 but it did not show that injector was the problem. did same to all and #4 when not connected has the wagon running as it should or seems to.

I need reputable shop in Elk Grove or one that can help me get this towed in as I have the fund for repair but not for towe to the shop.

Looking at the manuals it seem to be asensor but which one and I don't have the tool to fix it so any help in get hold of some one would be of great help.

Called DB but Pual seems to be busy as I have no call backs as of yet.

Need wagon work ASAP Wife just started new job on Monday in Roseville.

Ok thanks

CC

BTW anyone know anything about this place? http://www.subaruspecialists.com/

I talked to them on the phone sounds like good shop but towing is going to cost and we're a week out from wifes payday now.

Dude, we've had this discussion before. Paul's shop is a performance-oriented tuning shop. It's not a repair shop, and Paul's usually pretty busy with performance builds. You need a general repair shop, and how are you going to pay for repairs if you can't pay for a tow?

I don't know any repair shops that are going to pay to get your car towed in because you can't afford it, and then work on your car. Be realistic. You're asking people to refer you to a charity shop, and people here are usually more concerned with the quality of work, not the cost. You get what you pay for.

What makes you think it's a sensor if pulling the #4 injector fixes the problem? Is it drivalbe with #4 disconnected? It sounds like that injector is stuck open and dumping fuel. You can't just replace one injector on a car that old, and you may have bigger issues. Have you pulled the plugs to see if they're fouled, etc?

BTW, if you've already talked to Joe, a specialized Subaru repair shop, why are you wasting your time trying to get into a performance shop instead of figuring out your tow situation? That's probably the only shop that's going to take on your car.

Have you tried asking on legacycentral.org about the problem, like I also recommended? Nothing's changed, there's still noone here messing with 1st-gen Legacies, and that's the board where there's actually an active local group. Someone might be able to help you with your problem without dragging it to a shop if money is such a concern.

And, you're a grown man. I don't want to hear excuses, learn to type, edit your posts, and make them legible. If I was a vendor and got a PM worded and spelled like that I'd assume it was a 15-year old kid ad dismiss it. You'll get attention for the right reasons if people can actually read your post and you make it intelligible.

I'm done.

I've dealt with this particular individual before, and made these same recommendations before. I've worked for shops for years, and I get ****ing tired of people ignoring **** and just asking again becuase they're too lazy to do something on their own. This is not the place for troubleshooting this car.

A check engine light means you need to replace the oxygen sensor. Everyone knows that.

No, it means you need some electrical tape or stickers or something to turn it off.
