I don't know the current price, but the Chrevron off the corner of Bond@East Stockton was selling all levels of gasoline several cents below everyone else last Saturday. I was riding with a friend who needed to top of his fuel when we saw it. The Shell across the street was at like $3.17, and the Chevron @ Laguna was $3.19 for premium, while Chevron on bond was at $3.09. They had sold all of their gasoline except for premium, so I thought it was worth it to brave the EGPD at 1AM and came back with my car to fill up.

DWA. Young Asian male in a loud flashy car at 1am filling up the fuel tank. I’m obviously getting ready to street race and mow down a young white pregnant mother on her way home from volunteering at the community church, to study for her GRE’s so she can get into the Stanford medicine PHD program.
But, seriously, it’s not what I do that makes me scared about getting pulled over. I’ve never been involved in any collision that was my fault, and I’ve never had any moving violations in my 10+ years of driving. I’m probably one of the safest drivers out there. It’s who will be the one to pull me over for it that I’m worried about. If they want to cite me for CVC violations, I’ll accept it as long as they’re legitimate. I’ve been pulled over before by EGPD for missing front plates, and the peace officer was cool about it. I was a bit mad about getting the ticket, but, it was obviously my fault for not having front plates. Before I get all worked up over this, let me just say I have a lot of respect for the peace officers. But, because their duty can command so much respect, their actions and character must be deserving of that respect. If there’s a serious or threatening problem, they’re going to be the first people I call. I’ve even donated some money to the local PO associations without putting their stickers on. I just expect the work deserving of the respect when I call upon them.
But, there are a few bad apples at EGPD. These are the kinds of dirty peace officers that will arrest you and throw you in the back of a squad car for a good hour because you hurt their egos. And yes, things like that do happen. And yes, there are investigations done by Sac PD’s IA which confirms and supports the complaints filed against the EGPD. But, you won’t hear about it in the news or the local Elk Grove or Laguna Citizen newspapers because the City will do their best to ensure that this problem does not gain public recognition. They’re far more interested in the State and Federal grants that the City will be receiving now that they’ve got their own PD. A few bad apples aren’t too bad for a PD the size of SFPD, LAPD, or even Sac PD (if they must be tolerated at all). But, you figure EGPD doesn’t have more than 20-30 sworn peace officers… at least deployed out on the field simultaneously. Even a couple bad PO’s shouldn’t be tolerated. But, I digress…
Fuel in and around Antioch is about the same. $50 to fill up the FX35 with the cheap stuff. This POS and it’s 18MPG is getting traded in for Metro j/k

Like I said, I give them a lot of respect, so I expect the same out of them.
I haven't met any of the "dirty" ones face to face, yet, thankfully. I have met a few EGPOs, and they've all actually been courteous and professional. If I didn't know the dark side of the department, I would think that the whole department was a role model every police department should follow. And, I understand that there's always going to be a bad apple in the bunch, but given the small size of EGPD, that's pretty awful.
It's not like I shake like a crack baby everytime I drive. I'm not afraid of EGPD at all, despite what I say about them. I've driven by them, Sac PD, CHP, and Sac Sheriffs with little excitement, if at all. I'm just a bit more leery around them because of what could happen if I get pulled over. Police brutality? Most likely not. Police abuse? More likely than Sac PD in my opinion.
Oh, and yes, regular 87 octane. I'm just borrowing it for the week 'cuz I don't wanna put the miles on the Subie haha! It doesn't matter, though. Nissan's engine knock sensors are so sensitive it'll detect just about anything as a knock. I'd be suprised if there's ever a moment where the ecu isn't misreading something as a knock and allowing the timing ignition to advance to its fullest potential. Now, if I were towing or transporting something heavy (I'd have to wonder why I'm not driving a truck at that point), or if I wanted to do some spirited driving, I'd throw the premium in. But as it is, the 87 is doing just fine for the normal driving I do. Of course, I'd never throw in regular in a "premium-recommended" car that I own because I'm just too abusive with the gas pedal sometimes.
