CEL: P0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input

So just recently, I have been getting this CEL P0122. I was wondering if anyone had ever encountered this issue and when they went about it. I did some research (https://www.i-club.com/forums/hawaii...-2-0-a-169554/) but i am just want to make sure that i am going at the right direction with it.

I am looking to order one of these. TPS (scoobymods.com)

Because the sensor is spring loaded, to turn it 90 degrees to reload the tension and reinstall.

Hopefully, this will clear the CEL and fix a rough idle. Any inputs before I put in the work? thanks!

just to keep this thread updated because im stuck with this insomia issue...and if anyone really cares lol..

I headed up getting a extra throttle body and TPS from my buddy Sum.

I cleaned it out with throttle body cleaner and elector cleaner to clean the sensors.

New gasket for the IACV because the old one expanded and is no longer able to reuse.

New gasket for the Throttle body becuase it ripped.

New gasket for the BOV because i had to unbolt the bov to remove TMIC.

I ended up cleaning out the MAP sensor and the IACV. the IACV was totally clogged and nasty. I used about 10 q tips and alcohol to clean it out and then install botht he MAP sensor and IAVC on the new and cleaned throttle body.

if anyone wants to know and have bogging or issues pertaining Idle. IACV is forsure something you want to check and potentially clean. Also have a handy gasket. they are 6 bucks at subaru. ( i also hear you can just fill the IACV with gasoline and let its sit so that it breaks down the gunk in there too.)

everything was fine to reinstall execpt for the friggen TMIC. that plast y pip was a PIA to put back in but i ened up getting everything reinstalled at 5 this morning.

I am going to next fire the beast up and let it idle for 10 mins so that the IACV gasket can expand. Then take it for a run and see if everythign clears up. Update this later today..

I took off the same sensor off the old throttle body and i tried to turn it 90 degree but the holes then wouldn't aglin.. i just put it back in and slightly turned it.. Im wondeirng if its the same case here as the TGV...

thanks thomas.

Ya the one I did was spring loaded and you had to have it turned to have everything lined up. Then slowly crank it over to get the holes to line up to tighten it down.

Update. Turned the car to on position 3 times for the fuel pump and then turned it on. Rpm settled at 2k rpm since it was cold start. I just let it run for about 10 mins and eventually it went from 1500 and drop to about 8 to 700 rpm on idle. No leaks at the moment. So I'll give it a few runs later today. So far everything is smooth woot!

Hah yepp.. Drove it around and everything is fine rpm drops to 1200 and slow works to 700 rpm. Kinda surprised because not everything works out accordingly. Usually its one thing and then another. Anyways good start for a new year

to update after 2-3 weeks from cleaning and reinstalling of the new sensor.. the PROBLEM is FIXED. No bogging or idleing issues anymore. I was concern about maybe a slight raise in temp , but it all worked out.. the car idles at drops form 1100 to 700 and stays at 700 rpm. Hopefully this helps anyone that maybe going through this process in the future.
