Cool Can I join you guys? :)

At about 6:00pm Today, I purchased in full a 2005 White STi, and I was wondering if I can join you guys lol. I pick her up Monday(gotta wait for the stupid bank to take a hold off my settlement money). Plus I will be moving myself into my new place all weekend anyways so it all works out. So There will be a new STi on the streets at the start of next week.

I am new to the area when it comes to Suby dealers, the car had the silver rims, so basically I am thinking about making those factory rims my track rims, then going out and buying new rims/tires for normal driving. What are some of the good shops in the area for parts. I am looking for spend about 8k in performance parts, including rims. Kinda What I had in mind was....

Tein Coil-Overs
Rims
T-Back Exhaust
Chip
Intake
FMIC(since i plan on going to the track alot, not sure how well that TMIC can hold from getting headsoaked on a track, real track not X-Cross Cone Racing).

Throw in some of your opinions and stuff, I will be doing the installs all myself just looking for a good prices shopped to save some money in shipping . Looking Foward to going to the next get together, seeing what some of locals got done to their cars

welcome to the club. that looks like a solid mod plan for an STi. we're lucky up here in the Sac area to have an awesome local tuner and several other great shops in the bay.

please read the bylaws thread in full: https://www.i-club.com/forums/sacramento-reno-116/sric-bylaws-92012/ (just kidding)

Subaru Specialists is the place where most of us go for the mods. Everyone at the shop is great and they do great work. I don't think they make chips for STi's you'd want to do the ECU thingee. Nate does ECUtek reflashes and tuning. I personally haven't had him mod my vehicle, but of people here have. Joe at the shop just did my 30K service. I'm still super happy with the results. Aaron@s-s (board name here) can help you more.

You should change your tranny fluid to Red Line Shock Proof. That stuff rules. Makes it so easy to down shift especially to 1st, and solves alot of the odd little shifting problems.

Welcome. SCCA isn't too active in Sac, but you've got two regions around you that are great. Reno is good for the cone chaser in you (you know you like it ) and SF has an auto-x program as well. SFR also has Thunderhill raceway just north of sac. There seems to always be something going on there, though various sanctioning bodies.

Reno-Fernley raceway also isnt't too far from you, and is another great track. It'll be 4 miles long once the new section is completed

Ya me and my friend where looking at going to Thunderhill, and maybe infineon or some other tracks that arent to far away(within a couple hours) and go there to race for a day or so. He has an Older Porsche, we are both looking into doing that maybe once every other month or so since it is a tad.....pricey? lol i think its anywhere from like 100-200 bucks a day or some crazy amount like that...

Track days at Thunderhill range from $190 to $240 for a full day of track time. That works out to about about 2 hours of actual on track time. There's a thread in the BAIC for a THill day on July 18. I was planning on going July 29 with http://www.trackmasters-racing.com and then doing Aug-Sep-Oct-Nov with http://www.unlimitedlaps.com . But I'm a track *****.

Welcome to the dysfunctional SRIC.

If you plan on tracking your STi, your first mods should be better brake fluid, better pads, and stainless steel brake lines.
