Artest still has 2/3 more years on his contract. He has the right to opt out. He chose not to take it and live out his present contract until he finds an offer he likes better.

Feel lucky you didn't get Artest. Sure he is a great player but he would have been complaining about something before he got into the arena out there and most likely would have had a serious meltdown at a critical point in the season.
Case in point - Taking a swing a Rip Hamilton during the playoffs 2 years ago because he got bumped. Time was running down and the score was close. I think at that point the series was tied and Artest got a tech and a foul and Detroit never lost the lead after that. The dude is one wrong word away from exploding....

Peja isn't a bad player. It just sucks now that he was called from tonights game.... I never wanted artest anyway. That guy will never leave his drama. Especially for a coach like Adelman. He demands too much class from his players.
