[QUOTE=Marioshi;3248151]Loving the idea of the BRZ but it needs more than 240hp and a drop top before I will consider replacing the S2000. Actually I think the s2000 looks better...but I might be biased.
QUOTE]

this is the reason why i wanna get a s2000 haha.. hopefully the BRZ comes out with a turbo'd version in the future and it may change my mind.

but its still a nice looking ride and you'll do 30+ mpg? haha

The car is N/A for a reason. Why is the American view always like this, needs an LS or needs turbo, needs more power. Drop top? It's not a convertible to begin with...... Makes me sick sometimes.

+1 ... It's an ignorant point of view for the most part. How often can you use all 300+ HP with a tuned Subaru?? On the street not much at all unless you're getting on the hwy or you drive like a douche all the time. Even in twisty "mountain" roads you can't use a cars full potential with that much HP. I've owned a few AE86 and yes they're slow, but I'll be damned if they weren't the funest cars I've ever driven. I know there's miata drivers out there that feel the same way. I'm tired of hearing blasphemy when the person hasn't even experienced the car yet..

Lithia Reno has a white one on the floor. I had a chance to do fiddle with it. Suprised how small it actually is. I love the seats though.

I'm strongly tempted to trade in my AW 06 STi for one of these. My car only has 26k miles on it - I wonder what they'd give me for trade-in...

Eh I'm not sure your "logic" is really logic. More like your excuse for not having high powered cars.

If you don't "need" 300, then you don't "need" 200, heck you don't even really need 100. You can eccelerate to 45mph and 65mph in a 50hp car, and still have "just as much fun" in the corners.

My >300 subaru and >300 miata both feel fantastic

Back on topic though:
I've finally been up close and personal with a FRS (basically same thing) at a show last weekend, and I REALLY like these little things. Petite, sporty, and definitely fun looking. Can't wait to drive one.

I currently have a VF22 powered tuned WRX, it's not putting 300+HP down but it's plenty fast. My point was that you don't need high HP to have FUN. I'm sure it would be more exciting with more HP. I just don't see anything wrong with the current engine setup in the BRZ. If you buy one and are disappointed with the power, do a swap or supercharger. If you can't afford aftermarket kits like that then buy something that suits your power needs really.

I know I'll miss the power to easily pass on the hwy and whatnot, but I know it'll make up for it in the corners and track days.

How am I ignorant for expecting more power from a NA 2.0L? I have my reasons.

153 lb ft, 240hp, 9000 rpm redline > 151 lb ft, 197hp, 7400 rpm redline

Just saying, why go backwards??? If I didnt own an s2000, and I was looking for a brand new sports car, this would be towards the top of my list.

Subaru made a factory Turbo FA20 and the results look promising. If it doesnt make it into the BRZ hopefully it will still grace our shores in the next WRX. 296hp, 295 lb ft. Nice.
