Update with the PSP, its easier so long as you have wi fi. There is an update button in the menu.

 

No you can't. You can't surf the intrawebnet without the update therefore it is inaccessable.

 

Connection speed is pretty quick for me considering the hardware. 4 sec and less for most pages. It will let you post on i-club obviously. Forget view streaming videos though. You should have a larger memory stick if you want to be saving cookies and cached pages as well as pics.

 

Is there anyone out there who was lucky enough to get on the beta test for Socom for the PSP? If so how is it?

 

What you need to do is setup your wireless setting then get the update from sony.

I was talking about getting the update for the psp not surfing the intraweb.

It does the same thing. Just eliminates a step. It still copies the update to the PSP\GAME folder on the memory stick.

I updated mine when I was in the boonies in Nevada and didn't have wi-fi access.

I just noticed that I need to update my 2.0 to the newer 2.01 rev.

 

If your looking to downgrade from 2+ to the older 'image friendly' version sthen watch out for this.

I went to put 2.01 on and found that the latest is now 2.50.

Now you can set the time via the internet, theres a media player that works with some Sony specific hardware, and some other security stuff (WEP AES is now an option).
