Outback was recalled by Subaru... Apparently there's a potential for the stereo column to stop working completely due to a manufacturing defect in a handful of steering columns.

Officially they asked us to stop driving it immediately and have it towed to the dealership. My parents volunteered to drive it home from Lincoln last night and my dad is taking it to Gold Rush in Auburn to have it inspected. If it is one requiring a new column Subaru is paying for a rental car until it gets fixed.
