body repair (bondo + paint) or know any shop?

I have a friend with a 2002 Toyota Solara. Damage to passenger door + passenger fender. Deeds bondo + paint. Does anybody do a good job personally/locally, or know of any buisness that does it for an affordable cost?

Other than pointing you at a body shop - can't make recommendations without pics of damage. Bondo isn't a cure-all..

I am sorry - that is not a bondo job..

That door skin is finished.. Might be able to salvage the fender - but why.. The cost will exceed the price of finding good used fender and door at a wrecker and bolting them on.

At a reputable body shop that is probably something between 3 and 4k in damage.. The car is only worth 4k..

If you can pick up a used fender and door for under 1k in the right color you are money ahead..

Agree with this. The door is toast, but you can save the fender if you can't find another one. However, I think the damage wouldn't come out to 3-4k, more like 2-3k from my experience.

That just depends on your definition of reputable body shop..

I do paint and body on the side for projects / race bodywork / etc..
(Mainly just my own projects and close friends)

I'm kinda picky..

I actually recently had a vehicle repaired - 2 door shells replaced and a fender repaired at Bertolucci's 2 months ago.. 2300 in parts and paint and 3500 in labor.. If you take that quote and subtract the rear door shell and paint and labor allocated it drops the total to about 4200.

There are body shops that would do it cheaper - but it would look worse than if you just went out and bought used parts and bolted them on..
