Additionally, the President works for us, not the other way around. Just because he is the President doesn't give carte blanche to do whatever he wishes--including demanding the respect of the People. It's cliche, but: respect is earned, not given. So far, this administration has done nothing to earn my respect.
I have lived in a country in which the average person had little to no rights and was run by a not overtly intelligent individual who used fame and celebrity and blatant deception to win an election by a non-majority vote. Google Joseph Ejercito Estrada. That administration did, in fact, cause me to leave the country because I knew, unlike the United States, that my rights, not only as a resident, but as a human being would not be honored or protected. But unlike the United States, I felt no allegiance to that country and no confidence in that country's Constitution to assuage my fears for my safety. I imagine you share in these latter sentiments which is why you're here, too.
So, yeah, not leaving MY country.

Oh yeah I'm not saying he's good. Or that we should respect him. I just find it funny that everyone just assumes that America made the wrong choice, as if the other candidate was in any way shape or form any better. It was gonna be bad either way. Majority vote would mean no one outside CA and NY should even care to vote.
But all of this is still better than the crap that happens elsewhere, as you already know.
Been here since I was 9, a citizen since I think 10 or 11yo, and not leaving MY country either.

But I agree, both candidates were crap.
