Really, overall it's a good place to work, but I want to see what else is out there. I was surprised when that Vacaville entry-level IT job was posted on the SRIC and the starting salary was around $40,000...let's just say my current company is getting a steal on me.

P.S. Off to work I go!
So let me get this straight, you have 8 bosses? 8 Bosses Bob!

Had to get our daily office space up in here.

BTW, our positions here (there are now TWO open) are not really entry level. Our job title pretty much covers anything you can do as a technician, from replacing mice to building exchange servers. In a way some of us are getting hosed (raises hand) by doing enterprise work and getting paid the same or less as a tech that does nothing but answer phones and replace monitors. The turnover we are going through is mainly do to this borked up job classification.

Arhg...
My boss's birthday is today & #2 got a cake for her.
Talk about un-natural friendliness...
I got a few "boy, you're old" comments before excusing myself.

Um, yup, that's sorta the same position I'm in. I'm being paid as entry-level, but I planned an NT5 to 2003 server migration, Exchange 5.5 to 2003 migration, planned and implemented Blackberry Enterprise server on our network, plus I handle all the standard helpdesk stuff, and EDI transfers and followups.

What's the salary range for those two positions?

You can find the range here: http://www.cityofvacaville.com/jobs/....php?jobID=284

I am finally at the top of that range plus I get a 3% pay differencial for my certifications. Not too bad for me, but I don't think I would work here if offered the bottom of range unless I needed job really bad.
