Big thanks to eclipse evolution

Just wanted to thank Bob from eclipse evolution for doing my red overlays which I had attempted to do twice myself and failed miserably. The outer overlays are a PITA but he did them fast, easy and bubble free. He only charged me $40 for both, and it was $$$ well spent. So if anyone else is looking for an installer that can do taillight overlays, eclipse evolution is the place to go.

yes I got them on ebay for about 35 bucks, and had bob install just the outer pieces. The inner pieces are easy to do yourself since the lights are flat, but the outer lights are not even which makes it very difficult to install

If people want to go the painted route, it probably costs $15 in total that way. I use to do a bunch of 08+ when they first came out.

Yes painting is an option, BUT, the paint fades over time, 10-12 months later it will start to look orange-ish. Plenty of members on nasioc and clubwrx with similar stories about paint fade and having to repaint every spring.

The vinyl should last quite a bit longer and it's easily removable.

I paid $30 for the overlays and $40 for the install so it's not that bad.

that's because no one keeps wax on the paint or they don't do enough clear coat. vinyl can fade with time too...

Plenty of clearcoat used on the lights in the posts I have read. However, this thread isn't about what's the better option, it's a thread thanking a local shop for a nice install.
