Awesome, I'll have to check it out. I've heard some of our other offices using google earth to create background drawings that they place new building designs into. Google earth is a pretty powerful tool. We've had roofing vendors use it to explaing roof connections and details on real buildings.

I use Google Sketchup every day. It is an amazing program. We are currently modeling the entire town of Truckee.

It's still in the works but it will be on 3d warehouse soon. I have the commercial row area and high street ready to go. Once my website is up and running it will be on there also.

Most of the town will be modeled as massing with photoimagery placed on the sides of the massing. For the projects we design we go into full detail. This image is a building we are working on on Donner Pass Road - sketchup model with a little p-shop to give it that hand drawn look.
