do not, evAr get the hose near a drain of any kind. hillarity will NOT ensue.

i was cleaning out the litter boxes this afternoon, they live in the spare bathroom's shower. it's an easy place to clean up and keeps the boxes out of sight. anyway, i got done doing my civic scooping duty, and grabbed the vacuum cleaner to suck up any litter they'd kicked out. i decided to suck up the litter around the drain...

worst idea ever!!!

all liquid that was in the elbow (also containing litter since my wife washed that shower out last weekend) got sucked up through the vacuum, into the canister, and produced the most unpleasant smelling combination of dog hair, kitty litter, and old water.

now my $300 vacuum cleaner is disassembled and drying out in the garage for a couple days after i had to flush out every tube and hose on the damn thing.

I just ordered one a few days ago! Seems everybody likes it. Can't wait to actually see it in action.

Vaccume first with your old vaccume and then go over it again with the dyson. It will BLOW YOUR MIND.

she wants the $400 one that's special for cat hair...i think it's called the "animal" red on perhaps...

+1

it's pretty disgusting to see what you've NOT been picking up in the past. when i first vacummed our house with the dyson, i had to dump the damn thing about 6 times.

Fixed.

And yes, it's suction is that good.
The dyson, not ryball.
My only complaint is it makes a horrendous noise when something, like frizzy strings on area rugs, get caught in the beater bar.

do not waste your money on the animal. all it is an attachment that is suction driven like a turbo, not belt or power driven. so if you press too hard, the brushes will stop rotating. The suction on the dyson is good enough with the regualr brush attachment to get all the animal hair off of anything.

Salty:

Got your pm...don't worry, I'm in no hurry.
Also, I bought the purple one(Animal) & it works great, but any of them will do just about the same.
Go to Lowes/Home Depot and take a look at the different ones.
The only way to get a dyson at a substatial savings is to buy a refurbished one online.
You don't get the full warranty, but you'll save 30% to 50%.
