I almost did one with my old iBook, but the center console would have been too much work

I don't have to press any buttons to get my music onto the iPod, I just plug it in. Since I have a "Most Recently Added" smart playlist setup, it just copies my most recently added music to the iPod automagically. Then if there's an album/song I want permanently on my iPod, I flag it as 1 star on my iPod, then go to my iTunes and view the "Songs that need attention" smart playlist (1 star songs), then add the song/album to my "Essential Music" playlist.

Sounds convoluted, but it's actually a pretty streamlined solution.

People with 80 GB iPods can just setup to sync their entire library and never have to deal with manually copying anything.

Hell, with my 20GB I can sync my whole collection (as of now) since I only have about 15GB ripped at the moment.

Personally, every morning, as my alarm clock, every day in my car, every few days when I work out and also, every time I'm traveling by plane (which seems to be about once a month).

Exactly... i could never justify spending money on one because i would never use it...im either:

A) in my car where i have a stereo
B) sitting in front of a computer which is 100000X better than an ipod
C) If im not doing either of those then im with my friends & im not gonna be listening to music

If i travelled a lot or if i worked out a bunch i can see a use for it but other than that i really dont. My $20 mp3 player works winderfully when im riding my bike since it only holds like 25 tracks i dont need to monkey around with controls while im trying to ride my bike, i just drag & drop my 25 songs for the day, put on my helmet & im good to go.
