Ok, heres the deal. I'm sure many have you have seen me post my car for sale, then take it down, then post it up, then take it down. Well here's the deal. I've been presented with an opportunity to take a trade.

I have my 06 CGM WRX TR with about 55k on the clock. I will be putting everything back to stock and repainting and fixing the driver side headlight due to a minor hit and run someone did on my front end.

My moms boyfriend has a 1990 Mazda Miata w/ hardtop and main hoop(roll bar) with about 160k and has a slight oil leak. Ideally, I'd like to trade his car for mine with 12k on top for my car. Then take his miata, swap out the engine (LS1)/run it to the ground, and pick up another GC8/GM6, and pocket aroung 6/5 grand in my pocket. Or I could keep the money and spend it on tools and paying off student loans.

Just out of opinion and experience. Has anyone on this forum had any miata experience? I would like to slam the miata, flare the fenders and run some wider tires.

I have a built/boosted 00 NB. Check the picture/showoff thread in this section for some pictures:its the white little car among all the scoobs. At nearly 400whp its quite a handful, and 100 times more fun than any of my 3 wrx's were. Downside is its not very practical at all. So if its a toy you want, than that is exactly what this car is.

I'll be getting an '11 wrx for a daily driver shortly, and keep this thing as a toy. They are cheap, relatively cheap to make very fast, and the ammount of info/knowledge out there regarding making them very fast on a race track is phenomenal.

Its one of the most tracked cars in the world for a reason

Hmm. I'm begining to like the car more and more. It already has a roll bar so I know that stiffened it up some, and I'd probably buy some Axis OG-San/Axis OG Oldskool wheels and put some nice tires on it then do a little suspension work and just slide it around/dd.

I'd like to pick up another rs, but I think I'ma chill offa awd for now until I get a more consistent income. I'll have to look up some good cost effective power routes.

I used to work in a shop where we built spec miatas, I can hook you up with them to do any swap work if you want.

Also, what all are you selling to go back to stock? I may be interested in some parts.

That's sick, I don't think I'd need as much help as to finding parts. I need to find some good suspension bits, wheels (might just got with custom 15" steelies), some body parts.
I'll be driving the car as stock for now just fixing up the suspension and using it as dd/something to drift in.

1)Invidia V1 bellmouth DP

3) OEM wrx spoiler
4)Tien S-Tech springs
Lots of audio for a decent price. most of it's obo, holiday season coming up, would be nice to give stuff as gifts.

I have a few for sale ads so if you want just check those.

I think the future miata will be gettting 1.8 rear end components/driveshaft and a rx7 T2 rear diff.

why not a torsen?
the only thing the clutch type t2 is better at is drag racing.

I actually switched back to an open diff on my car because with the torsen it was getting sideways too much. I'm not into drifting, and it was very scary to get loose in 3rd/4th sometimes. If you're into sliding and don't plan on big power any time soon, a torsen would be great for you.

Lol, I would love to keep my subie. But I have a fair amount of student loans and tools to buy. :/

I just need a nice little DD to scoot around in and something I can still have fun in.

Update on the status. My moms bf is taking a really long time on letting me know whats going on so I've been talking to some FD guys if they'd do a trade+ cash or straight trade for a single turbo'd FD3S. :/

You want to get an FD?
To save money?

I should clarify, I'm all for free entertainment, but in the interest of not watching your inevitable descent into crippling debt and madness, as well as being a mod here, RUN AWAY. FD's are ****ing gorgeous cars and I love them ,but using one as a DD, especially if it still has a 13B in it, is a hilariously, almost tragically bad idea.
