Anyone running a Perrin lightweight crank pulley?

I was thinking of running one, but was curious what people had to say about them first. As long as the STi bottom end is internally balanced, then I would think that losing over 4 pounds from the reciprocationg mass would definitely be worth some hp.

Perrin Pulley

I have one installed on my 04 wrx. I doubt you'll feel any power increase, but rev matching etc is much easier. I had mine done w/ my stage 2 so it's hard to isolate it exactly. Not sure what your current mods are but this wouldn't be my first choice. I'm the silver wrx w/ blk wheels runnin around Folsom if you see me you are more than welcome to check it out.

Will do! If I can get some good feedback on it, I may throw one on... maybe first so I can let people know whether it's worth it or not. I would think that the engine would rev more easily. I will be doing a Cobb Stage 2 soon... the AP and TBE. My car is an Aspen white STi, soon to have a standard WRX trunk and wing, with silver wheels. I'm flying down to LA in the morning to pick it up. Thanks for the reply to the post... you seem to be one of the few with any first hand knowledge of the part. Is it a fairly new part?

Congrats on the car, and good choice w/ the normal spoiler. I don't believe the crank pulley is anything new. However I think most people are more concerned w/ power mods and not supporting mods like this one. I'd imagine it would be more useful after you have the exhaust track freed up a bit and the car tuned, maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong. For 130$ you really can't go wrong.

That's what I'm thinking. It's not much different than running an aluminum flywheel... same concept, just not as extreme of an example. Thanks for the congratulations. I've been wanting one for about 2 years. The timing is finally right and I got a great deal. I was looking at an '06 and had a deal made at invoice, but I couldn't see spending an extra 6-7 grand... that's some major mod money!
