not too big on the 1/4 miles.

why race a distance so small it can be done on foot?

You can't easily compare dyno numbers but the trap speed doesn't lie. Two cars might be tuned at different shops with different AWD dyno setups, but the car that has the higher ¼-mile trap speed has greater overall power-to-weight ratio, all else being equal (car weight, gearing, etc.).

That is assuming both cars are driven by the same person....one of the ETCs.

Mark, the cars need not be driven by the same driver. E.T. can vary quite a bit due to driver experience but trap speeds will remain much more consistent as long as there are no major starting line or shifting problems during the runs. Trap speed has a much closer relationship to the power-to-weight ratio and top speed of the vehicle than the E.T.

While the low E.T. is what we all shoot for when we pull up to the starting line (well, that and consistency), I always check my time slips for the trap speed to gauge how the car itself is running, as E.T. is more indicative of how I'm driving.

Trap speed is still quite dependent on the driver of the car.
ET more so.

So i guess we agree to some extent

Now back up your theory @ the track (Cheesy effort to get you racin)

I stopped going to Sac Raceway during the summertime unless I have done something new to my car. There's just something about hundred degree weather and no shade that makes me want to wait for the milder weather of the fall or spring.

If you have another match race with your Viper owner friend, I would try to make it out there, though.

Ya i went probably a month ago, it was HOTTTT 100+. I ran a 13.8(stock STi with a 1.9 60') I got there when it opened and only got a TOTAL of 3 runs in, because there was so many damn people. Only reason I went is because my **** talking uncle said his c4 vette was faster, so i showed him otherwise
