Question Anyone get a ticket for being catless?

I've heard a couple things about being totally catless and would like to clear it up.
Is it a fix it ticket or a fine?
I did a search and forums and couldn't find this info specifically. Some say it's a fix it ticket. I read something about a ref. I've read something about $2000 in fines. So how about it? Anyone get one of these yet? Was it a specific violation or did they lump it in with an illegal exhaust ticket? What were the results?

depends on how the officer writes it up.

if they write it up as a Vehicle Code violation, you could get away w/ just a fix-it, but if they write it up as disabling CARB Certified Smog equipment, you're gonna' have to take a nice little trip to the ref and stretch out before you go to court, so you can bend to grab your ankles at the payment counter.

I think its a $1000 dollar fine or something.... Buuut i have been pulled over like 15 times for the express purpose of searching my car for mods & not one cop has looked under my car.

if u get pulled over and have to go to a ref just change to stock exhaust before the date! its that simple!

if u get a fix it just do the same thing!

hahahah.... yeah.. I didn't get a ticket or anything... I'm just wondering what the potential consequences are.... I asked my bro-in-law if it was just a fix it ticket or what and he said yes... so I bought a catless DP... I can afford the time to change it back to stock and get it signed off at the ref or not and pay the $10.... but then I heard something about a fine and $2000 if they actually write you up for the missing cat.... so I had to ask and see what's up... luckily, I don't usually do anything on the road to bring attention to myself and haven't been pulled over for mod searches in this car.... so if i get pulled, hopefeully it'll just be a mod exhaust ticket... knock on wood...

I just like knowing what i'm getting into... thanks everyone for chiming in...

or just buy a catless one and realize you will probably be struck by lightening before its an issue if you dont give a cop a reason to pull you over.

If you drive like you type, I am not surprised you get busted a lot...

By the way, on the far left hand side of your keyboard, there is a key that says something like "Caps Lock" on it, do us a favor and press it once.

Thanks!
